A Familiar Network, One Step Further

Halfway House Living for Men in Washington

For men who've completed treatment at The Greenbriar Center or another nearby Gateway Rehab location, the Washington halfway house offers a way to keep building on that progress without leaving the area or starting over with a new provider. It's a substance-free home designed for men who are ready for more independence, but not yet ready to go it entirely alone.

Residents continue individual and group therapy, participate in relapse prevention planning, and can continue outpatient treatment or medication-assisted treatment as part of their ongoing plan. Staff also connect residents with employment and vocational resources to support the transition to fully independent living.

For men across Washington County, this halfway house offers a next step that stays within a network already familiar with their recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Many residents at the Washington halfway house are transitioning from inpatient treatment at The Greenbriar Center or another nearby Gateway Rehab location. Because everything is part of the same treatment network, care plans and treatment history carry forward, so residents aren't starting over with an unfamiliar provider partway through recovery.

Yes, many residents continue outpatient treatment or medication-assisted treatment while living at the Washington halfway house, including through our nearby North Strabane location. This lets residents keep working with a clinical team even as they take on more day-to-day independence in a structured living environment.

Residents are expected to remain substance-free, participate in house meetings, and take part in daily responsibilities like chores and structured routines. These expectations build the accountability and habits residents will need once they move on to fully independent living, without the built-in support of a halfway house.

Getting started is simple. You can call our admissions line any time, day or night, or request an appointment online to begin the assessment process. Our team will guide you through every step, from verifying insurance to scheduling your first session.
