Gateway Rehab has served Western Pennsylvania since 1972, when Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski and a group of dedicated supporters opened the doors to what has grown into one of the region's largest nonprofit treatment systems. Our Aliquippa campus continues that mission today, offering round-the-clock inpatient care for adults facing drug and alcohol addiction.
Patients arriving in Aliquippa are met by a multidisciplinary team trained in evidence-based care, including individual and group counseling, cognitive-behavioral therapy, twelve-step facilitation, and medication-assisted treatment. Our goal is to treat the whole person, body, mind, and spirit, not just the addiction itself.
Because Gateway Rehab offers 24-hour assessment and admission, patients and families don't have to wait for help. Whether someone is arriving directly from home, being referred by a hospital, or transitioning from another level of care, our Aliquippa campus is built to meet them exactly where they are.

When you arrive at our Aliquippa campus, our clinical team completes a full assessment to understand your medical history, substance use, and any co-occurring mental health needs. This helps us build a treatment plan suited to you specifically. Because we offer 24-hour assessment and admission, this process can begin any time, day or night.
Our Aliquippa campus provides medically monitored withdrawal management along with structured inpatient rehabilitation for drug and alcohol addiction. Treatment includes individual, group, and family counseling, cognitive-behavioral therapy, twelve-step facilitation, and medication-assisted treatment where appropriate. Every plan is tailored to the individual, since recovery isn't one-size-fits-all.
Gateway Rehab works with many major insurance providers, including Aetna, Cigna, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, and several others. Our admissions team verifies your coverage as part of the intake process, so you have a clear picture of your benefits before treatment begins. Financial questions never have to stand in the way of getting help.
Gateway Rehab was founded through the vision of Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski, with ground broken on a 100-bed residential treatment facility in Beaver County in 1970. The first patient was admitted on January 2, 1972. More than 50 years later, Gateway Rehab has grown into one of the region's largest nonprofit treatment systems, with our Aliquippa campus continuing that founding mission today.
Yes, family involvement is a core part of treatment at Gateway Rehab. Our Aliquippa campus offers family programs designed to help loved ones understand addiction, build healthier communication, and support long-term recovery together. Addiction affects the whole family, and we believe healing works best when everyone involved has the tools and support they need.
Recovery doesn't end at discharge. Our team works with each patient to build a plan for continued care, which may include outpatient treatment, community blended recovery, or peer-to-peer recovery support. The goal is to make sure every patient leaves Aliquippa with a clear path forward and ongoing support for lasting recovery.
Getting started is simple. You can call our admissions line any time, day or night, or request an appointment online to begin the assessment process. Our team will guide you through every step, from verifying insurance to scheduling your first session.
