A Message from Our Chief Medical Officer

Julia D’Alo, M.D.

July 2022

In January 2022, we celebrated 50 years of services as a nonprofit provider. What I find really exciting is that we are ever-changing, keeping up with what’s current, but have never and will never lose sight of our mission. With the staggering statistics that we continue to hear regarding the opioid epidemic and the knowledge that alcohol kills more people than any other drug, we have a lot of work to do.

Building better relationships with our community partners and healthcare systems across western Pennsylvania and into Ohio, and joining forces with Greenbriar, we are uniquely positioned to make a more significant difference right now. The passion and the hard work of many has gotten us to where we are today and will continue to drive us to do more.

We believe people with substance use disorders should be in an environment like the one we provide. We want them to have the best of the best. We believe their life carries an inherent value and when they arrive on this campus with varying degrees of hope, MY hope is they feel our compassion for them and our commitment to their recovery in each and every thing that we do.

Our goals are to expand access to evidence-based addiction treatment, constantly strive to improve the quality of our services with the primary goal being to facilitate recovery, prevent relapse, and provide ongoing support to achieve and sustain long-term wellness. This is the primary driver for offering all levels of care on one campus in Center Twp. In addition, all current and future projects align with these goals.

I can assure you, working with the many great people that make up Gateway Rehab’s treatment network, we will never lose site of this vision. Thank you to all of our staff who make us who we are.
