LIBERATING GREATNESS by Using Your Whole BrainGateway Rehab Eighteenth Annual Free “Thank-You” ConferenceCenter Township – The capacity of the human brain has been compared to a computer eight feet tall and covering a landmass the size of Texas! Why, then, do even the most capable people use just a fraction of their brains? Well, imagine being given the enormous computer just described with no operating instructions. So it is with our brains! LIBERATING GREATNESS by Using Your Whole Brain is the topic for Gateway Rehab’s 18th annual free “Thank You” conference to be held at Gateway in Center Twp., Friday, May 19, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.Executive coach Sharon Eakes, MA, will be one of the presenters at this year’s conference. She writes Fresh Views, an acclaimed coaching e-zine, and is a regular columnist for The Green Tree Times. Before becoming a coach, Sharon was the director of treatment programs at Gateway for 25 years. Hal Williamson, BSME, JD, MBA, also a presenter at this year’s conference, has worked in the corporate world for 38 years as a patent attorney and there grew fascinated with the way highly creative people think. At the same time he became interested in the way recovering alcoholics rebuild their lives. These dual interests led him into exhaustive research on the neuroscience of the brain. Hal and Sharon have recently published a book, Liberating Greatness, The Whole Brain Guide to an Extraordinary Life. Dr. Twerski said of this book, “The authors have made the understanding of this most complex system understandable and useful to everyone. There are many fine self-help books, but this book can enable you to make use of the others.” Register for the conference online at www.gatewayrehab.org or call Alice Watson at 724.378.4461, ext. 1193. Credits will be offered. Gateway is a nationally recognized leader in the drug and alcohol prevention and treatment field. Since its founding in 1972, Gateway has treated nearly 80,000 individuals, and currently provides treatment for approximately 8,000 adults and youths within a network of 20 locations in Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio. |
