Gateway Rehab to Host Breakfast with Legislators September 15
Annual breakfast
celebrates 17th annual National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery
Month in September
Pittsburgh – Gateway Rehab will hold the third annual “Breakfast with
Legislators” on Friday, September 15, 2006, from 8-10 a.m. at the Pittsburgh
Airport Marriott, 777 Aten Road, Coraopolis.
The slate of speakers includes Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A.
Zappala, Jr., Marc Cherna, director of the Allegheny County Department of Human
Services, and Linda J. Williams, director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection,
Office of the Attorney General of Pennsylvania.
The breakfast will afford the opportunity for local citizens, treatment
providers, and legislators to discuss alcohol and other drug dependency, a
problem that has reached crisis proportions in our communities. It will
highlight the key role that state and local government officials have taken in
reducing the stigma and denial surrounding addiction through legislation and
programs that encourage recovering individuals to share their stories of
recovery.
This marks the third year for the breakfast, celebrating September’s designation
as the 17th Annual National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery
Month. State representative Gene DiGirolamo, R-Bucks County, and Peter Wambach,
executive director of the Bipartisan Management Committee of the PA House of
Representatives, were the guest speakers at the breakfast last September.
Advance reservations for the complimentary continental breakfast are required by
September 8. Call Gateway Rehab at 724-378-4461, ext. 1193.
