Nineteenth Annual Gateway Rehab Center’s
Thank-You Conference

 
Center Twp.—Gateway Rehabilitation Center, a nationally recognized private, not-for-profit drug and alcohol treatment organization, is offering its annual free Thank-You Conference, Friday, May 11, 2007 at 100 Moffett Run Road, Center Twp. Registration and continental breakfast 8:00 a.m. There will be an award presentation at 9:00 a.m., followed by the 9:30 a.m. workshop with conference leader, Karen Vadino, MSW, LPCC, OCPC on the topic: “All Stressed Up and No One To Choke!!!” This stress management workshop is designed to help participants recognize stressors, become aware of their own personal stress level, and discover some healthy, effective methods to reduce stress. Time management and humor are discussed as methods for effective stress management. A personal stress level assignment and plan for healthy stress management will be the outcome of the training.

Karen Vadino, MSW, LPCC, OCPC, is a motivational speaker, humorist, trainer, and consultant. She is a nationally recognized speaker known for her unique and humorous approach to life. She has been in the human services field for over 20 years, and a trainer and educator for 15 years. Her experience is vast and varied. Karen has worked for children’s services boards, a children’s psychiatric hospital, and several chemical dependency agencies. These have included both clinical and educational departments. She has been a part-time instructor at Youngstown State University, Penn State University, and Westminster College. Karen has designed and presented workshops for national, state, regional, and local programs of all kinds.

All of Karen’s presentations are humorous in nature, reflecting her own approach to dealing with the stress of everyday life. She is increasingly becoming known for her “Vadinoan” theories and teaching participants how to “release their dolphins.” Karen is currently working on several books to compliment her presentations.

Gateway Rehab Center’s annual Thank-You conference is held in recognition and appreciation of those individuals from companies or organizations who recognizes Gateway’s mission to enable people affected by or at risk of addictive diseases and other mental and emotional disorders to lead healthy and productive lives through prevention, education, treatment, and research.
