Gateway Rehab Names Royce Woods to Its Board of Directors
PITTSBURGH
–
Gateway Rehabilitation Center,
a nationally recognized private, not-for-profit
drug and
alcohol treatment organization, recently announced the addition of
Royce Woods, an associate for PNC
Wealth Management, to its board of directors.
Woods is
one of only two minorities and the youngest among 35 selected from over 3,000
applicants to join PNC’s newly reinstated Management Training Program. He
graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from
Hampton
University in May of 2006.
He interned for three consecutive summers with PNC prior to starting
full-time in June of 2006. During
his internships, Royce was awarded twice the PNC Fellows Award.
This award is given to the intern that best displays leadership qualities
parallel to PNC’s core values. He
was also one of 34 selected, from almost 500 applicants, to the newly developed
Propel Pittsburgh Commission.
“Even if you are not directly affected by addiction,
the entire community can fall victim.
To improve this problem in the community, it first starts by shining the
light on the realities of drug and alcohol addiction,” said Woods.
Woods
was born and raised in Lincoln-Larimer and is currently very active in the
community. He volunteers as a youth
football coach, mentor at Central
Catholic High
School, and is a motivational speaker to
adolescents.
Woods is
the son of Donald and Suzanne Woods and has two brothers: Dr. Barrett Woods and
Sgt. Lance Woods.
Gateway
was founded in 1972 by Dr. Abraham J. Twerski, internationally recognized
authority in the field of chemical dependency treatment, psychiatrist, frequent
lecturer, and author of more than 50 self-help related books. Nearly 100,000
individuals have received treatment within the Gateway system, which reaches
