Critical Community Need
Communities in our region and across the United States are facing a crisis relative to addiction. The use of drugs and alcohol is rampant and increasing, affecting people from every community regardless of socioeconomic standing, race, or religion. The problem is national in scope and almost epidemic in proportion. Nearly eight percent of the total United States population meets the criteria for having an addictive disorder and these numbers continue to grow. This single chronic illness destroys individual lives, families and communities.

Gateway Rehab Restores Lives and Communities

Through its extensive treatment and prevention efforts, Gateway Rehab has helped to improve - and in many cases, save - individual lives as well as families. Since opening its doors in 1972, more than 100,000 adults and youth have taken their first, critical steps toward recovery at Gateway. Over the years the generosity of supporters has enabled Gateway Rehab to expand services to include treating adolescents as well as adults, open new community-based programs, provide treatment for hundreds of people without insurance or other means to pay, purchase equipment and other supplies and open 17 outpatient sites to provide effective treatment throughout western Pennsylvania and Ohio.

You can help!
National studies have shown that for every dollar invested in drug and alcohol treatment, society saves $12 to $15 in other costs such as public systems (judicial, healthcare, insurance, detention, and welfare), and impacts safety (crime and homelessness reduction). For this reason we appeal to you to allow us to advance our mission of successfully treating individuals with chemical dependencies through a donation to Gateway Rehab.
