Open for Drug and Alcohol Licensing Specialist

The Pennsylvania State Civil Service Commission will be accepting applications to take the examination for the Drug and Alcohol Licensing Specialist position from May 16, 2003 to June 27, 2003.  The actual examination will be the first week of August 2003 with test sites in Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

The Drug and Alcohol Licensing Specialist is specialized work in the area of regulatory compliance.  Specialists conduct on-site inspections of drug and alcohol treatment facilities to minimally: (1) determine compliance with state and federal regulations; (2) investigate complaint investigations; and (3) regulate narcotic addiction treatment programs.

Individuals considering this position should have a minimum of 2 years of professional human service experience and a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, education, public health, nursing, or allied health sciences.  The current salary is pay range 7, $37,360 to $56,763 plus state benefits.  The position does require extensive travel; expenses are reimbursed.
