ADOLESCENT INPATIENT SERVICES

Gateway has been providing drug and alcohol treatment for 35 years. In that time the variety and location of services have expanded a great deal. The adolescent programs currently offered provide treatment for youth struggling with drug and alcohol issues. There are currently two youth inpatient/residential programs that Gateway offers:

 

Gateway Youth Extended Services Program (YES)

 

YES is a 90-120 day inpatient/residential program for males ages 13-18. YES offers:

  • 45-120 day program for males
    with drug and alcohol issues
    ages 13-18.
  • Education 5 days per week by
    PA certified teachers. GED is
    available for appropriate
    candidates.
  • Alcoholics and Narcotics
    Anonymous 2-3 times per
    week.
  • Participation in Community
    Service.
  • Family program held 2 times
    per week.
  • Referrals to YES made by
    juvenile probation officers and
    caseworkers.
     

Referrals are typically made to YES by the youth's probation officer or caseworker.

 

 

Gateway Youth and Young Adult Program (YYAP)

 

YYAP length of stay varies from 1-3 weeks based upon referral source and funding availability. The YYAP program provides services for males and females ages 13-18. YYAP offers:

  • Gateway's first youth program opened in 1992.
    Provides intensive treatment for
    males and females ages 12-19.
  • 8 bed capacity.
  • Typical length of stay 1-3
    weeks.
  • Emphasis on 12 step recovery
    programs.
  • Family program held 2 times
    per week.
  • Referrals to YYAP made by
    caseworkers, schools and/or
    parents.

 
 

Referrals to YYAP are typically made by caseworkers, schools, and/or parents.

 

 

Outpatient treatment for adolescents is offered at the following Gateway Rehabilitation Center locations: Aliquippa, Allegheny Valley, Ambridge, Beaver Falls, Greensburg, Greentree, McMurray, Monroeville, North Hills (Cranberry Twp), Pleasant Hills, and Squirrel Hill.
